Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde are scheduled to walk the red carpet at San Diego’s Civic Theatre downtown as “Cowboys & Aliens” makes its world premiere at Comic-Con on July 23. The movie, directed by Jon Favreau, will debut nationwide the next week.
The red carpet begins at 7 p.m. and the movie at 8. No tickets are available to the general public, although 2,000 fans from Comic-Con will be able to attend.
“I owe the fans at Comic-Con so much, and it is only right that they are the first people who will get to see ‘Cowboys & Aliens,’” Favreau said in a statement. “By bringing the world premiere of the movie to San Diego, it’s my small way of thanking them.”
A smoldering Olivia Wilde returns to her natural-blonde roots for the latest issue of L.A. Times magazine—and, oh, how the old Hollywood style suits her.
The actress sports major Veronica Lake curls (in a shade decidedly lighter than her usual rich brunette hair), deep-red lips, and smoky eyes for the cover image, perfectly paired with a plunging Valentino dress and layered Kara Ross, Gucci, and Chanel necklaces.
Inside the glossy, things are just as glam, with Wilde wearing Marchesa, dotty Stella McCartney, and yet more Chanel.
But as good as the stunner looks in a show-stopping dress, she insists that her real calling is helping others—particularly in Haiti, where Wilde has been working with the nonprofit Artists for Peace and Justice. “Whenever I want to say, ‘F–k Hollywood,’ I have to remember that the reason I am even useful in Haiti is because I have a job here,” she tells the magazine.
Not only is the beauty on board for the fifth season of House, Wilde also executive-produced two documentaries, both about the rebuilding of Haiti, and talks about how she’s “come into her own” within the industry.
“It’s a sort of thrilling confidence,” she says. “You have to enjoy the unknown. You have to relish it.”
Hawaii is about to get wild—Olivia Wilde, that is.
I can exclusively reveal that Ms. Wilde will receive the Female Shining Star Award at next month’s Maui Film Festival.
The festival kicks off June 15. Wilde’s award presentation will include a screening of Sun City Picture House, a short produced by Wilde and Maria Bello about the building of a movie theater in earthquake-ridden Haiti.
Olivia Wilde will next be seen opposite Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in director Jon Favreau’s fantasy-action flick Cowboys & Aliens. Zac Efron, Jake Gyllenhaal, Claire Danes and Adrien Brody are among the festival’s previous young Hollywood award winners.
And like last year, I’ll be returning to Maui to sit down and chat with Olivia and all the other celebrity festival-goers (more names should be announced any day now) to give ya the scoop throughout the festival.
